Most bathrooms in Tolland County homes were built for function, not comfort — and after ten or fifteen years, that starts to show.
⬩➤ Grout that won’t come clean and showers that leak behind the wall
⬩➤ Outdated layouts that no longer match how your household uses the space
For many homeowners in Vernon, Manchester, and South Windsor, it’s not one big problem — it’s a buildup of smaller issues over time. At some point, a refresh isn’t enough. You need a remodel.
We Handle Bathroom Remodeling the Right Way
We handle bathroom remodeling the right way — waterproofing comes before tile, permits are pulled when required, and nothing gets covered until it’s done properly. We use Schluter systems for shower installations backed by a lifetime warranty. Every project includes a written estimate within 3 business days, a day-by-day schedule before work begins, and clear communication throughout the job.

A master bath renovation is one of the highest-impact projects in the house — new layout, new tile, new fixtures, and a shower or soaking tub that actually fits how you live. We handle the full scope in homes throughout Vernon, South Windsor, and Ellington, from demo through final walkthrough.
When you want the tile, the glass, the heated floor, and the details done exactly right, that's where we focus. We work with homeowners in Tolland County who have a specific vision and need a contractor who can actually execute it — not just approximate it.
Accessibility modifications take real planning — the right blocking in the walls, the correct clearances, fixtures that meet ADA standards without looking institutional. We do this work for families in Manchester, Ellington, and surrounding towns who are planning ahead or responding to a change in mobility.
A wet room means the entire floor-to-wall waterproofing system has to be flawless — not just adequate. We build wet rooms using Schluter waterproofing systems, which is why we're comfortable backing that work with a lifetime warranty.
Steam showers require proper sealing, a pitched ceiling, and the right generator sizing — details that get skipped when a contractor isn't experienced with the format. We've installed steam showers for homeowners throughout Tolland County and know how to perfect them.
Tub-to-shower conversions are one of the most popular bathroom upgrades we do — and one of the most unforgiving if the waterproofing underneath isn't done right. We handle everything from demo through finished tile and glass in Vernon, Ellington, South Windsor, and across Tolland County
From a simple re-tile to a fully custom build with frameless glass and built-in niches, walk-in shower projects vary a lot in scope and complexity. Tell us what you're working with and what you want, and we'll give you a straight answer on what it'll take.
Waterproofing is the whole game. Tile looks fine until water migrates behind it — proper waterproofing membranes and Schluter system installations prevent the rot, mold, and structural damage that a bad tile job hides for a year before it becomes a real problem.
Waterproofing Before Tile
Proper waterproofing stops water getting behind tile and causing mold or rot. We use membranes and Schluter systems to protect your shower.
Permits Pulled When Required
Plumbing or electrical changes may require permits in Connecticut. Pulling them ensures the work is inspected and protects you at resale.
Sequencing Matters
Bathroom remodels follow a set order — demo, plumbing, waterproofing, tile, then fixtures. Skipping steps leads to problems later.
Warranties You Can Use
We provide a 1-year workmanship warranty and lifetime coverage on Schluter system showers, backed by a local contractor.

Final Walkthrough
Take a look at recent bathroom remodels completed across Tolland County — from full master bath renovations in Ellington and Vernon to tub-to-shower conversions and accessible redesigns throughout South Windsor, Manchester, and Somers.

As a locally based remodeling team, our reputation means everything to us. We show up when we say we will, complete every project with care and attention to detail, and leave your home clean and organized when the work is done.

It depends on the scope, but a standard full bathroom remodel typically runs two to three weeks once we're on-site. Before we start anything, you'll have a written day-by-day schedule in hand so you know exactly who's coming, what they're doing, and when. If something changes — a material delay, a discovery behind the wall — we contact you directly and update the schedule. No surprises held until the last minute.
Yes. When the project involves plumbing or electrical changes, we handle the permitting process. It's included in the scope discussion upfront so there are no unexpected additions later. We're licensed under HIC #0643757 and carry both General Liability and Workers' Compensation insurance, so the paperwork reflects the contractor actually doing the work.
Every project comes with a 1-year warranty on workmanship. For shower installations using a Schluter system — which is our standard for wet area waterproofing — that warranty is lifetime. If something fails, you call us and we make it right. We're based in Vernon on Talcottville Road, not a regional call center.
Labor and materials are included. Permits are addressed on a project-by-project basis and covered in the scope conversation before you sign anything. You'll have a detailed written estimate within 3 business days of your in-home consultation. If the scope changes after the project starts — material upgrade, layout adjustment, something unexpected behind a wall — we create a formal change order before any additional work is done.
If you're in Tolland County or nearby and need a kitchen or bathroom remodel, give us a call. We've been doing this for over 20 years and we're not going anywhere.
Whether you've been sitting on a remodel idea for years or something just broke and you need guidance, Kitchen & Bath by Ellington Management can help. We'll give you straight answers about what your project needs and what it's going to cost.
